National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an admission test in India for candidates who want to pursue Medical (MBBS) or Dental (BDS) courses. It is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for taking admission in both private and Government Medical Colleges
There are more than 66000 seats that NEET offer for both MBBS and BDS. It was an attempt to bring together all the pre-medical entrance test and medical entrance test held by individual colleges and states.
Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET’s purview.
National Testing Agency will hold the exam instead of CBSE from 2019.
